Polaroid (technology series)

Harefield rb&hArts, Anzac Centre.

The Polaroid cannot be reprinted. Consequently each print is unique. It records what is there at a particular moment and although it can be altered by using a tool on the surface while the print is still malleable, it cannot be manipulated to falsify the original.  In many ways it is an unforgiving medium; there is very little depth of field, each shot is complete in itself at the moment of shooting; close-up is limited to about three feet.  Instead there can be an emphasis on colour, subject and chance.  Polaroid (technology series) comprised ten framed polaroids of redundant technologies in fanciful settings and was exhibited in a dedicated exhibition of this medium with two other artists.
